Rolls-Royce bills the Dawn as the sexiest car it has ever built, and if by “sexiest” it means most appealing, it may be correct. Inspired by the postwar Silver Dawn convertible, the car is more glamorous and more contemporary looking than other Rolls-Royce models. Indeed, four-fifths of the body panels are unique to the Dawn. Though it is smaller than the Phantom, it still accommodates four adults in complete comfort—and total luxury. The cabin is silent with the top raised and sufficiently quiet with the top down to allow an unstrained four-way conversation.  

Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder

This is the convertible version of last year’s Best of the Best sports car, and it’s just as impressive in terms of performance and appearance. Equipped with the same naturally aspirated 5.2-liter, 610 hp V-10 engine and 7-speed, dual-clutch gearbox as the coupe, the Spyder reaches 201 mph and sprints from zero to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds. Because it’s a convertible, it’s a little heavier than the coupe—and thus slightly slower and not as stiff—but with the top down, it offers a driving experience that’s even more stirring.

Ferrari 488 Spider

The 488 Spider is designed so that even when it’s traveling at 125 mph, the driver and passenger can converse without shouting. But the car can go much faster than that. The wallop of the turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8 enables the 488 Spider to reach a top speed of 203 mph and to blast from zero to 62 mph in less than 3 seconds. And with reasonable suspension settings and pleasant ride characteristics, the car is also well suited to leisurely cruising. The elegant design includes Ferrari’s patented blown spoiler, an integrated rear scoop that produces downforce.
